So, I have been away for a while (for which I’m ashamed because I love writing about my hair so much lol), but in my defense I was on vacation for a little bit and I was also managing my small Bath and Body product business. Anyhoooo…. I’m here to talk about my recent experience with the Cantu Shea Butter leave in Conditioning Cream. I don’t usually use store-bought products, but I often run out of my homemade products because I have an unusually large head and massive amounts of hair to cover. Therefore I have to make products often, but when I’m in a crunch I will run to the store and grab a small bottle of moisturizer or leave-in to hold my hair over until my next batch of homemade hair products are ready. So it has been 19 months since I embarked on this natural hair journey, and a journey it has been! I got my last relaxer on October 7, 2015, and since then I have been growing out my natural curls and trying my best to give my hair the best care. But of course you will run into a few snags here and there, but that’s why it’s called a journey thus you will have a few learning experiences along the way. I big chopped on April 22, 2016 with only 3 inches of hair , and can I tell you it was a shock to my system to have practically no hair (I had bra-strap hair relaxed hair previous to the big chop). For many of my naturalist ‘sistahs’ wash day can be an all day ordeal. The idea of detangling, dealing with severe shrinkage, and styling can turn into frustration very fast, but learning how to keep things simple can be the turning point in your regimen in regard to reducing time spent caring for your hair.
